Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach has filed a lawsuit against the Big Pharma heavyweight Pfizer over alleged false claims by the company over the safety and effectiveness of its mRNA Covid-19 shot.
The floodgates about to open:
The state of Kansas has accused Pfizer of misleading the public about its COVID-19 vaccine in a lawsuit filed on Monday.
The lawsuit, filed by Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, alleges that Pfizer made false claims about the safety and effectiveness of its vaccine, as well as hiding evidence of potential risks like myocarditis and pregnancy issues.According to the complaint, Pfizer violated the Kansas Consumer Protection Act and a previous consent judgment with the state by making deceptive statements such as claiming the vaccine was safe, effective, and prevented transmission of the virus.
The lawsuit cites specific examples of Pfizer's alleged misrepresentations, including statements about its original COVID-19 clinical trial on healthy individuals, its trial on pregnant women, and its vaccine booster trial on those 65 and older.
Kansas is seeking civil penalties of up to $20,000 per violation of the 2008 consent judgment and up to $10,000 per violation of the Consumer Protection Act.
The state alleges that consumers have been damaged by Pfizer's actions and that the company's deceptive practices are ongoing violations
